Omer Dembinsky, Data Group Manager at Check Point Software:
“Cyber attacks on both sides, Russia and Ukraine, continue to increase throughout the conflict. Last week, cyber attacks increased by 10% and 17% respectively, compared to the week before. It appears that hackers are increasing their efforts to take advantage of the conflict. The trend is visible not only in the two countries involved, but globally. World-wide, we see the average weekly attacks per organization last week 16% higher than before the beginning of the conflict. I believe hackers are seeking to take advantage of the hype and interest around the conflict wherever they can, as they look to target organizations that span both the public, perhaps an NGO, non-profit or government entity, and private sectors. CPR will continue to monitor cyber attacks trends in the weeks ahead as it relates to the current conflict between Russia and Ukraine.”
