Recurly appoints new Vice President of Sales EMEA to lead growth in the region
Recurly, a leading subscription management and billing platform, announces today the appointment of Markus Schmaus as the Vice President of Sales, EMEA. In his new role, Markus will be responsible for crafting and executing Recurly’s sales strategy, ensuring its alignment with the company’s overarching business goals and global expansion.

With an impressive track record and proven leadership, Markus, as a sales professional, brings 18 years of sales and management experience, with a keen interest in SaaS, Data, and Cloud Technologies. He’s been an advisor and investor with UK start-ups, providing support for their go-to-market, sales strategy, and execution. Most recently, he was the senior regional director, head of retail and CPG at Snowflake. He started as an EMEA founding member when he joined the company in Feb. 2017, helping set up Snowflake’s business in the EMEA region.

Prior to Snowflake, Markus was an enterprise sales director at Bazaarvoice where he worked closely with the UK’s leading retailers and brands to improve their consumer-generated content strategy. Markus holds a master’s degree in marketing, innovation, eBusiness and social psychology, and interestingly, his two boys affectionately describe him as the second-best Lego builder in the world.
